Based on a True Story Cinematic Title Card After Effects Template

Looking for cinematic titles for your next trailer? Based on a True Story Cinematic Title Card is a dramatic After Effects trailer text with a true movie look. A small "based on" line sits above a large letter-spaced serif phrase, with thin rules on both sides, the classic true story card for dramas and biopics. Use it in teasers, movie trailers or YouTube cinematic intros. Whether you are making movie titles, trailer titles or a full title sequence, this title animation keeps the typography cinematic.

Edit the two text layers to change the trailer text lines. Everything is driven from one CONTROL PANEL layer: global scale and position, text shadow, position and color for each text, plus the color of the thin decorative lines. Film controls add a letterbox with on/off switch and adjustable size, a video darken slider, a vignette, a fade from black and a film grain amount, plus a slow zoom on your footage. A two-color gradient background can be switched on, or turned off to place the title over your own footage.

It is the kind of professional title opener you see in blockbuster trailers, ready for your own story. Footage from the preview video is not supplied; just swap the DELETE THIS LAYER placeholder for a clip from your own project. Built in a 3840x2160 4K composition at 60 fps, the animation runs for about 8.4 seconds. Open it in After Effects 2023+ straight away; no extra effects or scripts have to be installed. The typefaces are Adobe Fonts (included with Creative Cloud) and open-source Google Fonts. Setup is simple thanks to the included tutorial PDF and a font sheet with download links. Combine it with other trailer texts, movie titles and opening credits from the same cinematic collection. Unlock it with Typoanim Premium and use it in client films, paid ads and monetized channels.
