About this template
Built for trailers, short films and cinematic intros, Historical Epic Film Title with Thin Serif is an elegant movie title for After Effects. A light wide serif title sits under a place and era line and above an "only in cinemas" line, with thin rules for a grand historical tone. It fits YouTube cinematic intros and title sequences, and works just as well in film school projects. It works as an opening title, a trailer text or part of your end credits, with the smooth animation of real film titles.
All three text layers are editable, so you can rewrite the title, tagline and release lines. Open the CONTROL PANEL layer to resize or move the whole title, add a text shadow and recolor every text, plus the color of the thin decorative lines. Film controls add a letterbox with on/off switch and adjustable size, a video darken slider, a vignette, a fade from black and a film grain amount, plus a slow zoom on your footage. A two-color gradient background can be switched on, or turned off to place the title over your own footage.
Filmmaker titles like this one save hours of motion design and post production work. The film footage in the preview is for demonstration only and is not included; replace the layer named DELETE THIS LAYER with your own clip. The composition size is 4K UHD 3840x2160 with 60 fps motion and a running time of about 8.4 seconds. Open it in After Effects 2023+ straight away; no extra effects or scripts have to be installed. The typefaces are Adobe Fonts (included with Creative Cloud) and open-source Google Fonts. Two PDFs ship with it: a how-to guide and a typeface list with links. More film titles and trailer texts in a matching style are available for a consistent title sequence. Available to Typoanim Premium members with a license for business and client work.
